Chief Information Officer
Whitney White, Chief Information Officer of ClearList, brings over 20 years of financial services operations, technology and capital markets experience. Whit began his career at Merrill Lynch, where he spent two years working on special projects in their Capital Markets Technology group. In April of 2000, he joined the boutique investment bank, WR Hambrecht + Co, where he spent seventeen years in various capacities including software engineer, software architect, Chief Technology Officer and Partner, Head of Equity Capital Markets. During his tenure with WR Hambrecht + Co, Whit was central to the design and execution of all capital markets transactions, including the firm’s patented auction-based offerings. Whitney executed the auction IPOs for Google, Morningstar, Interactive Brokers, Peet’s Coffee & Tea, Overstock.com and many others. Whit was Chief Technology Officer for over seven years, during which time he earned several patents for innovations in web-based securities auction processes. He spent his last six years with WR Hambrecht + Co on the front lines of the firm’s investment banking business, working directly with early-stage companies. As Head of Equity Capital Markets, Whit was responsible for evolving and executing the firm’s platform-based private placement, crowdfunding and Regulation A+ mini-IPO strategy, designed to offer earlier stage companies a novel path to a public offering under the JOBS Act of 2012. Most recently, Whit spent three years as Chief Operating Officer and CTO of Prime Trust, a Nevada-based, technology-driven Trust Company and alternative asset custodian.
Whit graduated with honors from Hamilton College with a BA in Computer Science and Psychology and holds MBA degrees from Columbia University and the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
